If your are interested in singing don't forget to check out the Sweet Adelines International homepage (women's' barbershop) and the SPEBSQSA or look around the NZABS (men's' barbershop ) homepages. Better still why not visit a Chapters in your area.   If you are not sure where to find one then drop us a note and we will give you assistance.

If you have any comments about our service please drop us a note using our feedback page.

Webcast tools and listening info is listed below the schedule

Regarding the video webcasts please consider the following:

  • if you want better audio, stick with the audio only link
  • if you want video but are using a dial-up modem (telephone line, dial tone standard modem etc) use the 56K audio/video option
  • if you want video and you have a DSL (Jetstream in NZ)  or Cable (Saturn in NZ) modem or other high - speed connection (T1, etc.) use the 300k audio/video signal

Please understand that with video (particularly 56k video) it will NOT be TV quality, it may be choppy, it may freeze depending on Internet congestion you might experience (think of driving into a traffic jam).

Tips on Web Streaming

The Webcast is experiencing an overwhelming response. Thousands and thousands of people from around the world are listening. We have made an unlimited number of listeners available through Windows Mediaplayer and RealPlayer. If you are a Mac user, you can also download the Windows Mediaplayer.

How do I listen or watch?
In order for you to enjoy our audio and video programming, you'll need to have special software called a "player" loaded on your computer. The player software does all the work of taking the audio and video from the www.sweetadelineintl.org site and translating it into a format that you can hear and watch on your computer.

This technology is called streaming audio and video. One method we are using is the Windows Media Player, which is from Microsoft, to deliver programming to you.

To use this you will need to get the Windows Media Player by Microsoft installed on your machine if you do not have it already. Most windows PC's do have it so check first.  This player is free. The follow the link by clicking on the icon below. It will take you directly to either Web site.

Windows Media Player test
If a small window pops up and you hear audio, you already have the Windows Media Player. If your browser warns you that you don't have a necessary plug-in or helper application, then you will need to download the Windows Media Player.

Alternatively you can use:

RealPlayer
To download the free player, scroll down and look for the small text that describes the "basic free player" along with a link to download. Otherwise, you will be asked to purchase the full version which is not required for www.sweetadelineintl.org content.

RealPlayer test
If a small window pops up and you hear audio, you already have the RealPlayer. If your browser warns you that you don't have a necessary plug-in or helper application, then you will need to download the RealPlayer.

Basic Troubleshooting
If you are unable to receive audio or video content from www.sweetadelineintl.org, there could a problem with your receiving computer, a network congestion problem from the Internet itself, or a technical problem with www.sweetadelineintl.org receiving the feed from the source and redistributing it on the Internet. Note: If you are experiencing technical difficulty with a particular media player (Windows Media or Real), please confirm that the latest version of the player is installed. If difficulties continue to occur, try a different player.

What You Need To Listen to MPR live or any of our single audio pieces, you will need:

  1. A sound card in your computer
  2. For streaming and archived audio, a 28.8 kbps or faster modem (some archived files can be accessed through a 14.4 kbps modem).
  3. For streaming and archived video, either a DSL or cable modem is strongly recommended for the optimum broadcast quality.
  4. RealPlayer or Windows Media Player.

Note: When the Web-cast is over you will get errors in the connection.   Sorry but that is only a sign that the broadcast is over.    You will have to  try again at the next days broadcast time.   In the meantime check out a different broadcast instead an go to our Web-Radio page

We have noticed occasional breaks in transmission (probably due to internets workload)  so don't give up if the time is within the scheduled timetable try again a few minutes later.
