Antony has been singing
barbershop for 9 years. He joined his previous quartet, the Razors Edge,
at the tender age of 16. During his time with them, the Razor's Edge gained
the Bronze medal at the national competitions twice.
He is also the Musical Director of the Harbour Capital
Chorus, current NZABS silver Medallist chorus, and has been directing
them since he was 19. He is currently the youngest full time Barbershop
Musical Director in New Zealand. As part of this position, Antony attended
the Directors College in St Jospeh, Missouri in 1999. Under Antony's direction,
the Harbour Capital Chorus has increased in membership from 29 to 65,
and also is proud to have scored progressively higher marks each competition
that he has been their Musical Director.
Antony's musical history is quite varied, having
sung in a popular church a capella group (Abdhul - don't ask, I don't
know where that came from) that performed in Christchurch, Auckland and
a number of other venues around the country.
He has also sung in a number of church choirs and performed in a variety
of stage shows including "Bugsy Malone", "Jesus Christ
Superstar" and "Oliver". Antony also played cornet and
Eb Horn in a brass band for 12 years.
Other than that, Antony leads a very normal life, being married with
2 cats. He's also a computer geek by day, which doesn't help his man of
mystery image. |
